Travel to Cameron Highland, Pahang – which is one of the most well-known hill resorts in Malaysia is also better known as the key producer of tea leaves in Malaysia. A paradise itself that is located on Titiwangsa Range with a charm of an English countryside village, this northwestern corner of Pahang houses a vast amount vegetables, flowers and fruit farms. Some of the few famous spots that shouldn’t be missed by anyone of you would be the Straberry Farm, Kea Farm, Kuala Terla, Tea Plantation, Ringlet, Bee Farm, Vegetrable Farm and variety more.

Getting there

By Bus
Ipoh is the nearest town to Cameron’s and from Ipoh, you can take the Kinta Omnibus to Tanah Rata from Medan Kit bus terminal (5 min walk from the train station). RM16.80 is the priceand there are 4 services per day (8AM, 11AM, 3PM, 6PM). The air-conditioned buses are quite old, but the timings are quite reliable. The buses travel via Simpang Pulai and do stop along the way at towns such as Kampong Raja and Brinchang.

From Kuala Lumpur, buses to Tanah Rata can be taken at Puduraya Central Bus Station and which takes about 4 to 5 hours. Online booking services are also available. If you buy a ticket online you may need to check in at the bus companies counter before boarding a bus. Usually the bus leaves around 8.30AM-3.30PM and the prices ranges from RM20-RM39.

If you are coming from Sinagpore, you may take the overnight VIP buses that runs from the Golden Mile tower/complex. Grassland and Fivestar ususally provides bus services and the charge will be between SGD$55-SGD$65 depending on the day and time of travel. Travelling time to Cameron Highlands is around 10 hr stopping at Ringlet, Lakehouse, Brinchang Hotel, Equatorial Hotel, Heritage Hotel and Tanah Rata. By car
From North-South Expressway, you can take the exit athe expressway at Tapah and then proceed via route 59 straight to Camerons. It takes about 1 hr 30 min to reach the first town of Ringlet.

By shuttle mini van
You can also use mini van transfer to get to Cameron Highlands:

  • From Kuala Lumpur, you can choose to be picked up at Swiss Inn Jalan Sultan Chinatown, 12PM Daily, MYR 35.00, Duration: 4.5 hr
  • From Penang-pick up at Georgetown, 8:00 AM Daily, MYR 50.00, Duration: 4.5 hr
  • From Taman Negara-pick up at Kuala Tembeling Jetty, MYR 85.00, Duration: 5.5 hr

By taxi
A taxi station is located at about 100meters along Jalan Besar road. You will have to negotiate with the taxi driver to get the best deal.
