Kapitan Keling Mosque
Travel to Kapitan Keling Mosque, Penang and explore this beautiful white-washed mosque adorned with yellow Moghul-style domes here. This mosque was built by the first Indian Muslim settlers in Penang during late 1700’s. As the Indian Muslim back then needed an everlasting mosque in Penang, therefore in the year 1801, the communal led by their leader, Cauder Mydin Merican also known as ‘Kapitan Keling’, was approved with an 18-acre lot. Now the mosque serves as a a praying site as well as a madrasah where religious classes are held.
