Kuala Gula Bird Sanctuary
Travel to Kuala Gula Bird Sanctuary, Perak and get to explore on of the most well-known and popularly established bird reservations in the Asian region. Developed during early 70s, The Kuala Gula Bird Sanctuary wishes to shelter and support the rootless as well as resident bird species.
One will be able to explore more than 161 species of birds, out of which 48 species compromises of migratory birds will the balance are the species of residents along with the local birds known as Mongolian plovers (Charadrius mongolus), Eurasian curlew (Numenius arquata), Cattle egret (Bubulcus ibis), Little egret (Egretta garzetta), Common redshank (Tringa totanus), Black-naped tern (Sterna sumatrana) Common greenshank (Tringa nebularia), Pacific goldenplover (Pluvialis fulva), Common sandpiper (Actitis hypoleucos), Black-headed gull (Larus ridibundus), Gret egret (Casmerodius albus), and lots more.
Getting There
By road – Take the North-South Expressway south from Butterworth (Penang) and then turn to Jawi exit and look out for the town of Kuala Kurau. After 30 minutes, you should see the signs for the sanctuary.
