How to travel to Langkawi Island, Kedah?

By Road – Visitors travelling by road will need to drive to Kuala Kedah or Kuala Perlis as there’s where the jetty is located. If you are coming from KL, the journey will take about 6 hours.

By Air – The Langkawi International Airport at Padang Mat Sirat is located just 20 km from Kuah and 8 km from the beach resorts in Pantai Cenang. One may take the Malaysia Airlines or Air Asia based on your convenience.

By Rail – With Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) or Malayan Railway, you may take the train which will provide comfortable and economical rail services from Kuala Lumpur to Alor Setar and Arau. As there’s no direct trainsservices to Langkawi, hence you will need to take a taxi or bus to Kuala Kedah or Kuala Perlis separately and then carry on by ferry to Langkawi.

By Ferry – One can take a ferry from 4 ports where three is from Kuala Perlis, Kuala Kedah and Penang Island in Malaysia and one in southern Thailand.
