Reclining Buddha Temple

Built in 1845 near Lorong Burma, most Buddhist belief that the reclining position “may represent the Buddha quiescent or asleep, but more usually signifies the mahaparinabbana: the Buddha’s final state of enlightenment before his passing”. In addition being a tourist spot, this temple becomes the most crowded usually during Thai New Year (also known as Songkran) which is celebrated yearly.
Getting there
By Bus – Take Bus 101 from Georgetown or Chulia Street. The bus will go to KOMTAR and then along Jalan Burma. The temple will be located on your right hand side.
